I was like you, I bought it because I liked Can't Stop Raving on the radio, and then was hugely disappointed with the album because Can't Stop Raving wasn't at all like the version I wanted and the other stuff was just weird. I was pissed off, felt ripped off, and I put the CD in a cupboard.
Hehe so true :D I bought the cd back in 1995 and really expected it to be a album full with hardcore vibes / cant stop raving alike tracks . It turned out to be the other way around and worse of all the great video mix of cant stop raving wasn't even on the album :(
In that regard the second album is much better and way commercial sounding . I guess it's a matter of taste but i still prefer more commercial tracks over experimental songs. And even after 12 years i still don't like the album (Although the album version of cant stop raving is a nice song).

I still prefer the original of Can't Stop Raving, but the Video Edit is fine too (I'm more into instrumental tracks than cheese :P)

Each to their own, I suppose. I absolutely love Dune, as a result of that album. Didn't you like Positiv Energy? One of their best tracks, I think.
