this isn't a "what's your favourite track" thread, but more of this:

if you had to sum up exactly what this genre was by choosing ONE and only one track, what track would that be? what track in your mind epitomizes this genre? or what 1 track is good enough to convert someone who's never listened to the genre.

what song comes across as well produced but not sounding completely too lame and cheesey.

i'd personally choose something older, like from the DHSS label ...? the bob marley rip was

i hope this isn't really a confusing question, because after re-reading it... it sounds weird.

but yeah. pretty much "what is happy hardcore in 1 track or less," that is your assignment, class.

the problem with your question is that hardcore really sint a genre but rather a style of music containing several genres. No upfont track can really define breaks or the harder dutch stuff.

From the recent upfront tracks i would say definition of a bad boy or like an angel

too hard of a question to answer as hardcore pretty much changed every two years in the 90s to today =P

For me, personally, it would RMB "Whispering". But i wouldnt use it to convert anyone, really. Its just one of those tracks that i treasure and go back to listen every now and then. The track is uplifting, happy and sad all at the same time.

i couldnt choose, there are so many different styles of hardcore influenced from many different sources. You would need about 20 tracks to what hardcore really is.

if i had to choose, breeze and styles - electric, and K complex - Adigio, show the elements of hardcore that do it for me

i cant go past elysuim
even when my other fav hh tracks arent quite hittin the spot for me, elysium just gives me that feeling that all good hardcore does!

as for newer stuff i'm REALLY liking bootyluv - boogie tonight (squad-e remix)! give me the same feeling, has the same sorta vibe. its a modern-day elysium :)

*gets all gurney n loved-up*

also antix, tom e & destiny - HTID (haze remix) has got a real "essence of hardcore" bang to it!
