im almost about to question his skills, since hes never had a release by him self during 93 till 07. sounds bit fishy to me.
I think the same could be said about SY aswell, i dont think iv ever heard a track that hes done his self without the name UNKNOWN in the title
he has, under aliases. such as 'the vampire'. techno storm was a hit.

If you trust Discogs (I generally do), you'll find that the latest solo release by Dougal was in 1996, and the latest solo remix by Dougal - in 2006.
I wouldn't worry too much. The actual workload behind a release is not always what it says on the tin. ;) I'm sure some Sy & Unknown tracks were produced 95% (or even 100%) by Sy or 95% (or even 100%) by Unknown and they just release under Sy & Unknown to level it out in the long run. :)
Same might be true with Dougal & Gammer or Breeze & Styles.
Oh, and both Breeze and Styles had over a dozen solo releases each.

Here's the question though, does it even matter?
I'm sure there are some producers out there who are strictly producers (that is ideas persons) and don't have much/any engineering ability. But at the end of the day if it wasn't for them, then the tunes they do with the engineers simply wouldnt exist. Sometimes, in fact a lot of the time, people who use other people to engineer have fantastic ideas and end up with banging tracks.
As far as I'm concerned: if it sounds good, its all good.

but its unfair for them to get paid and stuff, when you have real talented producers out there that get less. breeze is deffo talented. but im not sure bout sy & unknown, hate to be an ass, but some of their tracks were the worst hardcore tracks produced. 'ravers anthem', 'this is noize'. and their remixes arnt anything good either.

I think you'll find a lot of releases by big name DJs were created with the assistance (to varying degrees) of studio engineers. I'm sure there are a few who can now do it themselves but they probably couldn't have produced their early material without assistance.
Goldie is a respected D&B artist but he has somebody engineer for him. He comes up with the idea and directs the engineer what to do.
