The news has been filled with reports of flooding here in the uk of late, and i'm sad to say i was affected yesterday. It was very scary. The water came up to the top of my skirting boards, approx 5 inches, but others in my street had it higher than that. Although i consider myself to be very lucky indeed, as the only things to be ruined was what was on the floor, i.e. laminate flooring and mats etc.. it was still a very emotional experience.
Clean-up is now in operation and its time to get stuck in. It has left quite a bit of mess, but nothing that can't be cleaned or replaced, and for this i am very grateful. So many stories of people losing loved ones and all their possessions and my heart goes out to them. If any of you reading this is/has been affected, i wish you lots of luck and best wishes in the clean-up.
I am lucky, myself and my children are fine and well and we will get over this inconvenience, but could you all just take the time and spare a thought for all those people that have lost far more than me? Thank you. Take care of yourselves too.

It's scarey to think how harsh the weather can be in England. I mean we don't get earthquakes or hurricanes but stuff like this affects thousands of people a year, from trees dropping on cars to people getting swept away, to people like dee who have their houses ruined (although I know it could've been a lot worse) Good luck with the clean up and thoughts to anyone else caught up in the storms.

was driving bakc from hartlepool last week with mate and what did we see, fookin small tornadoe stretching down from sky, really eerie to watch
