What makes a track an "Anthem"? Like, all the Hardcore cds coming out today say "## Hardcore Anthems!!!" Well, not EVERY track can be an anthem. One thing I liked about the old "Happy2bHardcore" cds, he actually picked 16 tracks from either of the beginning of the year or end of the year that stood out in the raves.

An anthem is a track that lots of people like...
In hardcore that seems to be a predictable vocal track... so yeah nearly every track can be an anthem  .

Most albums these days are loaded with the DJ's own labels tracks, there are the exceptions of course, hardcore underground being one.

yeh a big example of that theory is the hardcore euphoria album, each mix is just basically promoting there own tracks/remixes
on the note of anthems, i dont really hear many anthems these days, 2 tracks that i class as anthems are

scott brown - make the beat drop
there just a personal taste tho

IMO anthems of happy hardcore are like Bang!'s stuff or Force & Styles stuff.

Well imo anthems are anything that your brain makes them, an anthem to yourself is a track that you think is ****ing awsome, so theres alot out there

An anthem to me is the song that gets the whole place singing along. A track that most everyone knows the words to.

not nessersarily cuz theres alot of tunes out there that people know, whether its by being a chav or what

I think that a REAL hardore 'anthem' needs to have 1 thing and 1 thing only.............
The ability to bring emotion to u.
Sounds nuts but everybody on this forum will have an anthem that reminds them of 'feelin great' A tune that brings butterflies to yer belly and pins n needles to your brain!!!!!

In my opinion, nearly all of Bang!'s stuff are anthems, Force & Styles - Heart Of Gold remains a good anthem.. also for some reason, Nakatomi - Children Of The Night, and Charly Lownoise & Mental Theos stuff aswell.

i don't think it's the track itself that's the anthem it's what that track means to you for me it's either;
bang! - shootin star
or
force & styles - heart of gold
they always take me back to wen i were about 11 goin 2 an under 16's club nite with all my mates - probly the best days of my life so far... feelin all nostalgic now :)
