so basicallyyeah subject says it all. It has no vocals, but they should be done by the weekend, when ill post the complete clip. This is the track in its entirety minus vocals.
Please, feel free to pick it apart.
And before you say it, i know its not like professional standard, so feedback would be appreciated.
Hope you enjoy!

Is a lovely track mate, can't wait to hear it with the vocals.
I'll be honest with feedback...
Riff @ 00:46 comes in to suddenly and sounds very slightly too quiet.
The bar of breakbeat you've used here and there doesn't really fit the track IMO.
The chords the piano plays are lovely and complemented perfectly by the pad but the higher melody it plays sounds clunky and a bit dull... Needs allot of brightening up and maybe a play with 'verb/delay depending what it sounds like after that.
Love that build-up out the first breakdown!
I think you should take a look at your percussion it drags the track down a bit... You need something a bit more substantial, filling out a lower frequency range on beat and the open hat just doesn't do it... It's uninteresting.
As I said though sounding very nice so far! :)

^^Phew, some production feedback. I wish I could be that technical with my advice. :P
I agree with what Bulby said.
Especially about the percussion, I think that's what I've been trying to put my finger on.
I really like this man, the synth sounds a lot better! :D
I like the breakbeat sample, but I'd fix the rest of the percussion.

Cheers for the technical feedback man! I agree with a lot of what you said after listeneing to it again. The piano does sound kind of... plain and just dull, but thats so easily fixed.
I dont know what you mean by the percussion though. What specifically sounded crap? If im honest the only real thing i like about the percussion is the rides that go on-beat, im not a fan of the off-beat open hat, but i didnt ever really give it much thought. Theyve also all had the frequencies below 200hz sweeped off them, think maybe i should reconsider that?

No problem mate.
No it's always a good idea to use a high pass filter on high end percussion as it cleans up some room for the low end.
What I mean is the closed hat occupies a high frequency range and could do with either being replaced by something that's a bit lower in frequency/has a bigger range that occupies more low end or having another closed hat that has a lower frequency range layered in with the existing one. The second or third option would be a better bet :)
As for the open hat... Best way to deal with that is get a load of open hats together and just try them one after another with the track playing at it's fullest (when everything is active) till you get something that sounds more interesting and goes with the track better.
Remember the percussion has to fit the track nicely or it can pull down the whole feel of the track, if you weren't entirely happy with it you should have known it needed changing ;) Trust your instinct on stuff like that.
*edit*
Just in case it's unclear (I think it might be lol). When I talk about the percussion filling out a lower frequency range I mean Mid - High Mid kind of area not low frequencies... Don't think I made that clear.

....and it also helps if you 'tune' the Open Hat to the key of the track.
