You wouldn't think it was summer down here in south England, just rain after rain after rain! Are we going to see the sun this year at all?

imagine having to wear shorts, what a setback. what temperature (centigrade) does it get up to in summer in england?
Hottest I remember was like 37. I'd say a normal summer gets to around 28-30 + a few more if there is a heatwave. ATM it seems to be about 20 though :S.
Is the middle of summer and we're having the worst floods we have ever had! Somethings up...

The problem in the summer over here isnt the temp, its the humidity. A dry heat is always better.
Its the worst flooding in living memory. Although saying that its only because the ground is still sodden after the rain and flooding in June, that it has flooded this badly in July. The last time it flooded in June (1947) the weather improved afterwards unlike this time.
Anyway, lovely sunshine in Worcester atm, although more rain is forecast for later in the week.

I don't get it. Belgium is just across the Channel and we never get floods. How odd

I feel you guys on the rain situation, here in Florida, it is now the Rain and Hurricane season. We've been getting thunderstorms and lightning everyday. Last weekend I was driving around town and I got caught up in a flash flood, the water was up almost above my tires!

Heh. You probably look after your rivers and have decent drainage.

Yeah definitely. We barely ever get really hot. sunny days :(
Hopefully the weather will improve even if it's just for a couple of weeks! I've been offered a ticket for Global Gathering my I'm considering not having it 'cus I can see it being spoilt by the rain...

At least its not as stupidly hot as last year when you couldn't do anything without sweating to death.
After one day of nice sunshine, its back to being overcast and crap.

I live in Lancashire and there has hardly been any rain. It's quite strange to see it all over the news. I think the worst affected areas are Gloucstershire and some parts of Yorkshire.
