It hurt like nothing ive ever had done before! My mate's had it done the same day and said it was fine but like you, im shit scrared of needles, add to that my girly pain threshold and ya have a recipie for disaster. At one point it felt like the dude was hacking at my arm with a razor and squirting hot acid into the wound.. I looked at my arm to see what he was upto and the sight (and smell) of hot needles jabbing into my skin followed by blood and ink bubbling out of the hole's pushed me over the edge and I had to have 5 mins to compose myself! went green and was well close to falling off the chair..
Look's wicked though and I cant wait to get more..as they say...they are addictive ;)
I know next time i'll be fine as I know what to expect :D
Enjoy!

I did that on my second one, bled like a mofo.
The pain depends on where you have it done, the back is really painfull but the arm isn't. On the arm it's not like a reall pain it's more like a discomfort, just a needle draging through the skin type of discomfort.
If I where you I'd bite the bullett and get it done, for a few minutes of discomfort it's worth itss when you see the end product.

don't get it in the summer sweety well you can but depending on where u want it the sun will fade it when u first get it done and you won't want to sweat alot as well as going into a pool or sumwhat will make look a bit worse.. its not that painful really it reminds me of sunburn except for the pieces right on my spine/close to my spine theres not much meat there but lots of nerves

They don't do your art on your skin whilst your drunk, trust me i've tried.
As for having stuff to numb the pain they don't mind.

how much is the starting cost for a tattoo ova there?
i think it's ridiculous we have to pay $60 for something as small as a little dot.

hmm i wanted to get a tattoo before i left home to go overseas but didnt get the time.... ive heard the arm but like the part underneath near the armpit is most painful but since thats mainly where guys get tattoos you should be ok lol.... and like pure said, you can use numbing cream on it before hand and that should help ease the pain.... gl :)

to gage you have to check if it's close to any large nerve-tracts. for instance: your back is right on top of your spine (largest nerve-tract in your body) so it' gonna hurt like a mother****er.
also check which tissue it's being stabbed into. Weathered and fleshy tissue like on your arms is more resilient to pain as lets say a think layer of skin over bone on your ankle or wrist.
I'm using pure biology and fysiology to determine this here folks, i'm not going to go into psychological issues like fear of needles or pain-thresholds.
