Ok so in my "play room" i have got my decks setup along with my laptop, however i also have a desktop and an XBOX 360.
My wireless router has been causing lots of trouble and finaly decide to stop working, i ordered a new one just 5 mins ago:)
However when i switched my laptop on (the etehrnet is plugged in to the desktop) it scanned for wireless networks, now one of my neighbours has his setup with no password so i was online on his connection playing some poker:P
Question is as i am was using his connection would he have been able to tell what i was doing?
I know he would be able to tell me mac address but would he have been able to tell what i was websites i was looking at and where i was downloading data from?

If you have 2 computers, can you tell what the other computer is browsing? Not really knowing anything, but i would asume, yes if you hack into it, or have a computer before the router gos to net that scans the traffic, i think it could be done
But i highly doubt a person that doesnt even secure the line knows how to do any of that.
Also, i hate WLAN. Its crap, too much hassle and not really secure. LAN is much better.

Yeah i was thinking the same if he can't secure it what the chances of him being able to tell what i am doing.
Was just curious to know if there was an easier way then hack my machine or install a trojen or what ever.
Until my new router comes i will be making good use of his connection:) I hate p[laying teh poker when not comfy but i would hate even more for him to be able to snake me out of my winnings!

I would assume your poker sites (if legit) use at least 128bit encryption? (All banks, good online stores etc use encryption)

depends if he is using software, or just running the router as is
also got to watch out if they are over 40, as they might be daft/average person with a expensive connection and low download limit

just playing poker and not really downloading, i use my desktop for that!
the thing is i do alot of my work on the laptop and with the logging on to the company email server was the thing that worried me a bit. I just wanted to make sure that he could not see what i was looking at.
Heres a question for all you hackers out there, is there any program similar to a key logger that could be installed on his machine that would pick up any passwords or so that i typed or as i have a firewall would i be alerted to this activity, i am 100% sure there is no virus or trojen on my machine.
