How did whistles come about in the rave scene, along with air horns? I love them and wish more people here in my scene had whistles.

Kindof cool but my friends and I use to blow whistles to piss people off like blow whistles after school. I called us the whistle posse and whats funny is I heard a number of songs that said WHISTLE POSSE
makes me laugh

I love music and crowd participation (no fun without some cheering), but adding some shrill, out of key note played with poor timing on the top of songs is just annoying. No whistles for me.
