....some would say that Hamilton's been arse kicking

and with only 5% of it being down to the driver, maybe they should employ you.

Yes, because I've spent the last 15 or so years racing Karts and various different formulas.

Lets put Button in the Mclaren and see how he does.

As for the comment about the Rugby World Cup. You obviously havnt seen much of it, if you think there is even a chance of any home nation winning it.

lol Well done, nice support for the UK there. England and Scotland are still in the Rugby World Cup , doubtful Scotland will win, they dont look like they'll take down one of the big boys, but England have a knack of beating the bigger teams. Dont count them out.

As for the F1, I hope Hamilton wins, what a feat of driving that would be. Cars dont go around tracks on their own, yeah the car needs to be something special, but you telling me Senna was only 5% of all his wins ? Yeah ok.

...yeh, you'd obviously beat Hamilton in a kart, identical karts of course, and Ron Dennis will give you the job.

Yes. I'd love to see Button in a Mclaren as well.

Maybe the ole Brits won't win either of the sports CLARKE but being British i would like to see it happen.

As to the arse kissing though, i unfortunately missed that. Was it bad?

Woosh. I think you need to repair your sarcasm detector.

The point that I was trying to make is that in Formula 1 the main deciding factor between say 10 or so drivers is the car. Give half the field or so a seat in the best car(Mclaren) then they would be there or there abouts.

I wasnt saying that Hamilton isnt a good driver because he is. The way the media and some fans in this country have portrayed him as the great hope for British interests in F1 has been completely over the top. Yes he has done a great job for Mclaren this but so would have most other drivers.

Rubbish. Hamilton has taken F1 by the scruff. You telling me someone in a "lesser" car cannot compete just because of the car ? again rubbish.

If ya had Senna in a skoda he'd give them a run. True legend he was.

....maybe you're right, yes....

I've failed to see the sarcasm.

The point that seems to have passed you by is the fact that Hamilton has beaten the current (twice)

World Champion in the same car.

It hasn't passed me by at all. He has done exceptionally well in his first year. What I don't agree with is the over the top media coverage he has received since virtually the start of the season.

Alonso was obviously not expecting such a strong challenge from Hamilton because it's plain for all to see that he hasn't handled it well at all.

Although the qualifying incident at Nurburgring(i think) is a perfect example of the way Hamilton has been covered in the British media. Alonso gave Hamilton a bit of pay back for ignoring team orders and not letting him past by sitting in the pit box a bit longer. Some parts of the media covered it as though by not following team orders and letting Alonso past. Hamilton was doing a great show of strength to the World Champ. Others didnt even mention the reason Alonso sat in his pit box. There was little or no coverage of his childish actions in the press conference afterwards with the rubbing of his cheek with his outstretched middle finger in the direction of Alonso.

There has been very little mention of Button. Who's name only 2 years ago or so being banned about in a similar way(F1's great British hope) Button has had an awful car this year but has put in some good performances none the less.

Davidson this year has put in some fantastic performances(especially qualifying), in what has been his first full year in a racing role, rather than a testing role in F1.

Agreed. there's been very little mention of Button or Davidson in the popular press....

not unlike the very little mention of Hardcore in the popular music press. Same principle.

Hamilton being over exposed by the media? So is Beckham etc, etc, etc......?

Same principle again isn't it?
