i've been having big problems getting onto broadband these last few days on tiscali! anyway been on the phone tonite and got the usual bombay badboy! waited and waited and hes now told me I can't use SKY and my broadband at the same time (don't know why) i've happily been able to use both since i got a computer 20 months ago! can anyone on here please tell me why? or should I just f**k them offf and go to someone else (who r u with?)

Yes you should, Tiscali are awfull. I had no end of problems with them, they even capped my line for no reason!

I know of no decent ISP, especially as a gamer. I've been bum raped by Orange one to many times. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO EVERYONE, DON'T DEAL WITH ORANGE FOR INTERNET, PHONE OR ANYTHING!
I was a customer with wannado for 6 years and never once had to ring tech support, since orange took over just over a year ago it's been no end of problems. I took the contract phone and internet deal for £35 a month. I speecifically asked for the unlimited bandwidth service at an extra £5 a month but they didn't unbeknown to me so after 5 months I recieved a letter of disconnection noticed. When in contact with them I asked why I was getting a breach of term usage on high bandwidth when I am on unlimited. This is when I found out they'd ****ed up and promised not to disconnect it. turns out they lied and disconnected me anyway. Close to 4 weeks with no internet and had to sign back onto them as I had my phone otherwise I'd be paying £35 for phone and another £20 for connection from someone else. When I signed back on I had to sign for another year and asked specifically whether this would lengthen my phone contract another 5 months as I didn't have much use from my phone and didn't want to resign the contract. Was told it wouldn't. Found out 3 months later it would. When I rung tech support they said it was mandatory and when asked why my contract was being extended on the back of their mistake of putting me on a specifically wrong package from what I asked for he said it was my fault for not noticing the price on the bill.
Whenever I now have to ring up tech support you just get told to go to another department, when you get through to them they'll tell you you need to speak to another department. They lie and are all bordering on drooling idiots with there knowledge of computers. One reply was whether I was sure I had the modem connected into another socket instead of the USB. With 8MB under their service I now ping worse to servers than I did with 2MB and even when I had 512KB under wannado.

im with vergin media n dont have any problems at all, ive got the three for £30 per month package
(broadband, phone and tv)

My advice get rid of Tiscali
I cannot say too much as it would affetc my job but they are not interested in helping they are only interested in appeasing you to get you off the phonelines, same with emails & letters. (currently a backlog of both letters & emails).
Im not a hardcore gamer but i have used BT since i first connected to the net, the few problems i have had over the years have been sorted fast & easliy by BT
