My old Mission speakers have finally had there day and I'm going to need some new ones :(. I already have some monitor speakers but I'd rather run my decks through home stereo speakers.
Up to £200ish to spend.

Something with a decent output that can produce a decent sound across the frequency range. They have to be good for monitoring wile DJ'ing.
Something big that can produce lots of bass is not necessarily going to sound good. Especially seen as it's going in a medium size bedroom.
I'm thinking another set of 6" book shelf speakers or some floor standing speakers of some description. High quality is important! Don't want second hand.
I'd buy another pair of the missions I had if they weren't discontinued :(. Problem with ordering off the web is you can't hear them to see what the quality is like... I know what the decent brands are, just want to know if anyone has any recommendations.

Id go for some of these Alesis active monitors. Ive used monitor speakers for mixing for a year and a half to two years and ive always loved how easy it is to hear all the sounds in the mix. Good quality with lots of bass and there active which saves a whole lot of hassle, cant go wrong imo ;)

Yeah I want something with a nicer sound for chillin' and listening to stuff too though. Don't think monitors are ideal for this really. I have a decent amp already so that's not a problem. I'll have my monitors linked up too if I want to do a studio mix or something.

Heh they're the ones that just broke on me. Yeah they're decent speakers though they could do with a slightly brighter sound IMO.

Didnt realise they were for listening pleasure as well as mixing.
You could always look into getting your speaker's fixed and buying an eq or effects processor to sort the sound out to how you would prefer it? Thats the only thing i can suggest since ive no idea about home stereo gear!
If you google AV Forums and have a look / post on there you will find loads of great info, its a really good site.

I'll have a look round, cheers. TBH I think I'll just get new ones, the sound isn't perfect on them and I already have an EQ.
