So, I'm going to be getting a new mixer. I was looking at the Pioneer ones because they look like they are all really good. I only need a 2 channel one and I was wondering if the 909 is really that much better than the 400? Money is not an issue, I'm looking at it in terms of just features and quality. Also, if anyone thinks that there are better mixers than either of those two any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should get a Ueri 1601.
I have used both and I can tell you the Pioneer doesn't touch it.
The 1601 range is now bollock cheap at HTFR as they are discontinued and being cleared (£200).
You can also get:-
1601E - Has built in effects. £250
1601S - Has two samplers. £250
I have the 1601E and wouldn't swap it for anything other than a high end Rane or something of that class.

I'd recommend either a rane, urei, or an ecler for a 2 channel mixer
never played with the 400. Things I don't like on the 909 are there is noticeable distortion at levels higher than 0 dB & the effects cannot be stacked or layered
has really good fader curves though

I have a djm-400 and I love it, the 8 effects it has are really quality (well exept for Robot), never tried the DJM-909, but that touch screen looks cool. Also i'm pretty sure the djm-400 has the same sound processor as the djm-800.

Yeah, Rane and Ecler are both worth a look.
Pioneer mixers also have inferior sound quality in comparison to these 3.
