Ive got 1 CDJ 100. Dont use it that much, still prefer vinyl.
Ive got about 100 nicker to spend on a new (Second hand) CDJ. Im in a pickle whether to get a CDJ100 to match my current one and have 2 cdj's (For around £100 ebay) or get a Denon DNS1000 for £200 and sell my current CDJ, thus leaving me with 1.
Ive had a go of the Denon and the build quality was good, as is pioneer. Not arsed about the FX as Ive got a Stanton SA12x and more interested in having something that will last ages. Its not going to be going to gigs with me either, because I dont kiss arse for them....
Any advice?

i got a DNS1000 about a year ago and its great, never had any problems. The FX are a bit shit to be fair but the rest of it is quality. I bought it because of the fact it can loop upto 8 bars of a song you can take the cd out put another in and it auto fades the two tracks. Yea its gonna sound shit for mixing hardcore but its great for pop music ( i played a few birthday partys using this to pay for the CDplayer).
The fact it plays MP3s also sold it me, my mate has an axis 9 and it takes him ages loading up cds n listenin to the tracks to find the one he wants where as i have about 70 tracks on 1 cd and all the names come up on the display.
It has turntable style start up, break and reverse functions but there no match for the real thing
i have never played on a CDJ100 so cant realy compare.

I actually have both of these I have a CDJ100 and 2 x Denon S1000's. I prefer the Denon because of the fine tuning controls you have over the playing, it has two laser pickups so it's exactly like vinyl when you scratch (not that I do that much) unlike the Pioneer which guesses what to scratch (so I'm told) but for better or worse I feel there is more control with the denon's rather than a CD just playing that I speed up or slow down.
But with that said, no clubs have them, in fact in all my years DJing I have only ever seen 1 set while playing out, everything is pioneer. I recommend you stick with the standard so you can DJ anywhere, unless you don't mind bringing your denon's to play out or perhaps not feeling 100% on the pioneers. I'm not saying if you DJ on Denon you wont be able to use anything else, the concepts are the same but the feel is just not 100% the same and for new DJ's that might throw you a little.
Of course if you just want something to play with at home I'd go for the denon's.

Ended up getting another CDJ100. Pretty crap, I dont need the FX but at least i have a matching pair. Would love a piar of Denons and wouldnt be playing out with them, will possibly get a pair in future. Is it worth selling 2 CDJ100's for 1 DNS1000 though??? I dont really use much CD to be fair and the scratching would be tres bien!
Thanks for the advice anyway!

Better to have a pair of matching anything than 1 of something.
