Ok, as many of yall know, I have done nothing but complain about the sound quality of the cds coming out today. At 1st, I thought I was going deaf because I had to keep turning my boombox up to hear/feel the bass (though you already can hardly feel the bass off a boombox), and even in my car, I have had to go up from volume 6 to volume 10. Now, Bonkers vol.14 was already a bad cd pressing (atleast my copy was), so my friend would blast my car stereo on purpose. So I believe that my speakers are going dead. Atleast that's what I hope to think. So anyways, mainly a question for the Americans, but all opinions are welcome, whats a good brand of stereo's that give you the full sound without damaging your speakers? I dont like Emerson brand, I have never had any good luck with an Emerson stereo.
*Edit* Also, I am looking for a decent price range, Anywhere from $40-$100+, but prefer under $150.00

I'm confused, are you wanting a car stereo or a home stereo?

Are you talking really good quality audio equipment or just an all in one stereo job?
If you want one of those all in one jobs look at Pioneer, Sony etc.
For really good stereo amps and speakers (you will need plenty spare cash) look at people like Denon, Bowers and Wilkins, Mission etc.
