Hi again guys.
I managed to halfway (sort of) complete a remix of Blink 182's song 'the rock show'. Why a pop punk song? Well blink 182 got me into music, and i absolutely cherish their music. Complete classics, i really dont care if you disagree lol. And dont call me "gay" for remixing a rock song please :o), i thought it was a great choice because alot of punk pop songs were done in major scales which i could easily make uplifting melodies from, and it actually worked quite well. The piano harmony with the vocals sounds pretty cool. Unforunately the song will NEVER be finished, my computer randomly turned off ( i had it saved ) i turn it back on and open the project and it says 'The flp could not be opened, it may be corrupt or a vst plugin may have caused an error'.. This has never happened before and i use same sort of plugins i think i only used z3ta for this one.. If anyone could help i would be GREATLY and i repeat GREATLY appreciated !!!
I've shown Influx this track and apparently i used too much hard compression and had problems with other stuff, which i think is correct.. But id love to see what happ hardcore.com thinks of it. I really dont mind critism, as long as it isnt something stupid like 'I hate that bass' or 'synth' or whatever.. Because that is just preference i guess.
The synth and bass took me around 3 days to complete. I had heaps of problems with clipping and annoying eq problems. It could of been done better, but since that thing happened to my computer this isnt much i can do.
Well i hope you enjoy, i made it mostly for fun, i really wanted to show happy hardcore.com the full version (when i finished it) but it wont happen unless someone can tell me how to fix this problem if its fixable.
Your comments are GREATLY appreciated, its only like 2:22 long, but id really really appreciate feedback.

haha i used to love blink182 also
edit after listening: damn that's really good, one thing, when you've got the first piano part with the vocals at the start of the buildup, if you could find a way to make that piano faster i think it'd sound a lot better... not sure if you'd be able to do that with the same riff but it sounds really slow and out of place maybe? not entirely sure..
either way that's really good ;)

im not sure if its the vocals or piano thats making you think that, but i think it might be the piano.

I had the same problem... Had to re-write an entire track. "Save new version" on regular occasions is your friend!
Will give this a listen on the weekend when I get a chance.

I absolutely love it! Its great to hear some punk remixes going on, I too love music like this, because i think in some ways hardcore is quite similar to these types of music. Would love to hear a full version of this song, hope you complete it, definitely worth it!

Some good ideas in there....bass good be a bit beefier...aswell as the riff, the riff sounds a bit "hidden" try layering more synths etc...also as an idea it would probably be good to put a long reverb tail on the vocals to make them sound kind of "dragging" & more "eery" Try and maybe beef up that kick too...sounds slightly tinny...but overall, not bad :) keep it up.
