So what? Hatton was outclassed in every aspect of the fight. He landed nothing worth noting. Mayweather's movement was absolutely sublime. Every time Hatton tried to close the distance Mayweather's reach, counter punching and accuracy just picked him apart. He was even better than Hatton in the tie up. Not much of a boxing fan and the first time I'd actually seen Mayweather fight other than highlight videos and he proved without a doubt why he is the absolute best out there in WW.
Even if the referee had let the clinch go, Hatton would have never won. Was landing nothing in it and Mayweather was picking him apart when he was shooting in to close the distance. Mayweather would have won unanimously on points or just KO'd him again.
I was cringing and felt embarassed to be English however when we booed over the singing of the American national anthem.
Did laugh at the first punch in round 10 that dropped Hatton head first into the ring post. Was a beautiful left hook.
EDIT: Can't get gif working =/

It was all down to that pont being deducted..
Meant Hatton had to force the game for points rather than break him down slowly and step it up right at the end. Think its bollocks to say hatton never had a chance, first few rounds Hatton was the better.

im glad hatton had a go and im glad i stayed up to watch it, but he isnt a welterweight fighter i dont think. i thought hatton won a couple of the early rounds but mayweather controlled the majority. id like to see mayweather vs cotto coz i fink cotto is the only guy who could beat him, hees already beat judah and mosely this year and looked wicked against judah. as for hatton, id like to see him fight mosely or de la hoya before they retire

Hatton was forcing his game from round 1 not after the point was deducted. That deducted point did nothing in affecting his game, he was far behind on points already. He'd have had to won 5 out of the last 6 rounds to take it on points. You could argue a case that we could have had 2 out of the first 3 rounds but after that I doubt he won more than one. The only reason he'd have been given any of the first rounds was through the work rate rather than punches because he barely landed anything. Mayweather was just in another class unfortunately.
