some guys in my year at skool hav started a band and they recorded some songs, i think they just did it on an mp3 player, so the audio isnt very good, and i had to turn my speakers up to full to hear it. and i just started using fl studios, i was wondering what could be done using fl to enhance the audio, im not very good so as little detail as possible.....

lol any help would be great....

i dunno much bout fl studio but i would think since it's already been recorded in bad quality their is no way you would be able to make it a good quality. basically i think the recording device needs to be a proper one and not just an mp3 player.

but if you wanna turn up the volume....try turning up the master and volume of the computer?

haha this is also happened to my with my mixes hence y im buying a proper recording device and not my mp3 player any more

id advice getting it to a mastering engineer.
make sure there is 3 or 2 db of room peaking on the master channel and get him/her to do the job. Mastering is definetly not something learnt over night.

I would say there is no point in trying to make it sound better if it's recorded onto an mp3 player, it's always going to sound really bad. You need at least a semi pro setup. You can get a mini mixer, couple of Shure SM57's and a decent sound sound card for a relatively small ammount of money, and it will already be infinately better than using an mp3 player!

Also to save confusion, mastering is the proccess of compressing/eqing/limiting the 2-track master. Mixing is the proccess that comes before this; which would be mixing the seperate tracks down (to 2-tracks) and applying whatever neccesary proccessing and effects to each one.
To be more clear; 2-track = single stereo track.

Alot of people seem to get the term mastering confused...

mastering doesnt "fix" anything per se and it should only be the final touches to a finished mixdown.

If its recorded in bad quality, its always gonna be bad quality. Mastering wont fix it. I dont think mastering will actually make a difference except make it louder tbh...
