No Idea if this will actually make any difference at all but if it does then it will be awesome but i was sent an email with this petition from a government website. check it out here. Its about cutting the petrol costs. You can read more info about it on the webpage.

No amount of petitions, protests or anything will affect petrol prices.
We all just have to resign ourselves to bending over and taking it up the arse from the government as and when they see fit!

If they cut the fuel duty on petrol(the only part of the cost they can effect) they would have to raise other taxes to pay for the cut in fuel duty.

So i'd rather the motorist paid then everybody regardless of whether own and run a car.

They wouldnt have to put it on something else, they would anyway though. But this VAT is to do with "environmental concerns". Its almost the same principle as the Conjestion charges they have going on in London.

you are kidding right? governments need revenue - that's what taxes are for.

Realistically I think it's amazing how cheap petrol is for all the trouble they go through to get it, especially when considering the company technically sell it for like 35p a litre as the government take 65p off each £1 of it.

Most bottled mineral water costs more per litre than petrol.
