Well, i thought your limit was 3300 USD :P
Honestly with second hand things will cost half the price, and your not loosing anything.

The 8080 is the rackmount version of the 8000 :) You don't need a keyboard for any synth, and i don't know of anyone who controlls their synths this way. They use midi from their computer :P

lol i mean midi, hmm grrr u lol i use a key board 76 key casio since i am a pianist :D i love the sounds on it, but really i think im gonna get a Roland SH-201, and what type of files does it use, lets say i can load things onto it is it .rf2 or .rfx or wav, or u cant load sounds from your computer to it. oh wait i understand what your saying, no i dont use pianoroll, only to edit, plus it is much easier to use a nice velocity sensitive keyboard with a good feel. believe me since i am guessing you dont play the piano its much easier to make a melody with one, rather than a 4 note thing with mod filters and loops which most might do lol attack of the 15 year old loopers and 3 note basses. But an arpatiator (no clue how to spell, but its like using steps when u hit a note to make a melody) is sometimes nice with the piano roll, and yes i know u can use one witht eh key board too. heh lol i still mostly dont know what your talking about but here is a third guess, its like a melody previously made so when i hit a not it plays it according to the steps, like sorta a "midi sequencer" thing lol no clue for the terminology
( no offense to all those if offended by the loopers comment lol i use to be one heh)

You wouldn't load any sounds into a synth, a synth makes sounds to begin with. To load sounds into it would take away the point :P Presets of course you can load....
I'd much rather play the keyboard myself but since i can't, it's not an option for me, and it would take years to get good enough to even play acceptably unfortunately.
"MIDI - (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). Standard specifications that enable electronic instruments such as the synthesizer, sampler, sequencer, and drum machine from any manufacturer to communicate with one another and with computers."
In other words midi is data that is sent between devices that allows you to control them remotely. Like you can go into Fruity, create a midi channel, and place a load of notes in the piano roll. When you press play this data (not audio) would be sent via a midi cable to the synth (assuming you have a hardware setup) and the notes would be triggered by the computer, instead of say, you playing the notes. This audio would then be recorded onto the compute via an audio cable from the synth.
This is how most people use synths.

Dude.
Screw hardware. I've been churning out some wicked sounds without hardware.
Learn zeta inside out, read up on making super saws, get the vipzone multi-samples (which I have personally rinsed) and the world of hard dance will be your oyster.
Instead of getting hardware synths, get yourself a good pair of monitors and a decent computer and you'll be sorted.
Don't believe me? This is a clip of a track I've just done with sounds from zeta:

Look seriously. There really is no point wasting money on hardware, especially if you are starting. Software synths can do amazing things, especially if you get to use them, and software is much more convienient. Thats why it was made. Only top end producers really use hardwars, it's hell expensive and to be honest its a rip off compared to cubase with a couple of good vsts

Lots of professional producers just use software. Sam being one of them. But yeah, seriosuly, there are things that will help you more than hardware - monitors being one of them.
Hardware is less a necessity and more of a luxury. You definitely dont NEED it.
But yeah dude there are a LOT of people out there getting stuff signed using only software... what reason do they have to lie to you about it?
Id say its more your inexperience with production and synthesis that is holding you back creating some epic leads. Give it a lot more time before you decide that you need something.

a large percentage of producers use software, and only the top end ones use hardware because they can afford it, why waste money on hardware.
Because it's better than software in every way, and if nothing else, it's a real physical object!
there are very few things software has yet to replicate well
hardware is a huge hassle...you've gotta record, **** with midi, remember knob positions if you ever want to change something, etc.
so annoying, so unnecessary
