If there is an exception to every rule, then every rule must have at least one exception, so is there an exception to the rule that states that there is an exception to every rule?

you mean something like this?
cant remember the exact details but...
there is a law of physics which states that producing energy from nothing is impossible (i think it was derived from the mass energy equivalency crap). for this reason it is impossible to create a perpetual motion machine, because, as a machine, friction is created, slowing down the motion. so the point of a perpetual motion machine is to create enough energy from nothing to counter the friction and keep the object in motion.
now here is where the paradox sets itself down.
a while back there were two central theories on the expansion of the universe.
1. the universe would finish expanding and then collapse to form a 'big crunch' (incredible display of imagination there).
2. the universe would continue to expand indefinately to a point where gravity or whatever was holding the universe together could no longer contain it.
what these scientists did not expect was that the universe would continue to expand indefinately, while simultaneously the rate of expansion was accelerating. ie using energy that was produced from nothing.
this suggests the abilty to create a perpetual motion machine.
noone really knows why this phenomena occurs, people guess and theorise but they never really know. the accepted theory is that there is 'dark matter' or some shit out there supplying the energy to the expansion.
imho the problem lies with einstiens theories of relativity and his work in equating universal laws of motion with newtons local laws of motion. no disrespect to the kid he brought scientific thinking a long way and out of a huge rut and has done more for science than anyone else in the last century or so, but my belief is that somewhere he made a small error that someone will pick up on in a couple of hundred years and sort everything straight.
if i havemadeanymistakes here can someone please pull me up on them

if you want what is in the glass it is half empty, cause you would rather have more, but if you don't want it then it's half full, cause you'd rather have less.

Because the biological niche the other apes filled still exists.
