Does anyone know of any good online poker leagues (preferably Australian, but doesn't have to be). Im not looking to bet real money, just enter some competitions. Also if theres any other poker players here a happyhardcore.com friendly would be good

On the william hill poker there is free tournaments, although playing for free is totally different than playing for cash when i was learning i tried the free tables but when people ain't lossing money it constantly all in etc.
It took the fun out of it for me but the cheap tournaments £1.20 to enter are a good place to start http://www.williamhillpoker.com/?lang=EN

i play on pokerstars, victor chandler, doyles room and william hill. They all have free tournaments. Pokerstars is the best one, around 8000 people enter the free tournaments and they are like every hour and if you finish in like the top hundred or so you qualify for a tournament that plays for cash. The cash tournaments start from as small entry as $0.10/5p and go up tto around $215 (but thee prize pool is guaranteed $1millionfor that) There are around 10-12 tournaments an hour on pokeerstars and you always get 1000 or more people entering, wereas on victor chandler for example, you might get 50 people entering

yeh i got over online poker. because i never won a freerole i never got to verse any good players

i hate freerolls, i always play for money. The thing about poker is, there is something really unsatisfying about sitting there for hours playing a freeroll and having nothing to show for it at the end. Thats y i play for money

I agree playing for money is better, but if im gambling I prefer face-to-face poker. The skill of reading a player is lost a bit online. Gambling is best at a casino or when I have mates around for a game on fiday nights.
