Hey, i cant remember if this was asked not so long ago so apologies if it was. I was wandering if anyone could recommend any really good FREE or VERY cheap VST plugins for hardcore music production?

Depends on what you want it to do. Synth1 is nice to begin with (warning, it looks BAD):

Search through KVR forums, google "free vst" - there's a ton of them out there, many good, many bad.

KarmaFX and Superwave P8 are two great bits of freeware I use a lot. Check 'em out on KVR.

dblue Glitch is 'a must have' fx vst & is free
also, 4 front piano is free if you want a bouncy housey feel
other than that i suggest getting computer music magazine, always a free dvd packed with fully working vst's & loads of other free samples & demo's, if your quick you can catch the march issue, it has a wkd video tutorial on how to remix a track by CLSM
