A very good day to you, friends! Mimsy is new to the scene, and is looking with great admiration and expectation to Happy Hardcore.
Might some very kind and generous peoples suggest good songs, DJs, artists and what-not to aid on my journey into this awesome territory? What you jam to, what moves you, anything!

I live near Merrillville in NW Indiana. I've hit up the rave scene in Chicago a mere two times, and that's all I've had.
As far as music, I couldn't tell you exactly. I like peppy music that makes for good dancing. I heard some fun nintendo remixes, and a very awesome Ninja Turtle Theme Remix.

well peppy music is most happy hardcore =P
I'm guessing you heard krang - ninja hardcore...funny tune. who'd you see in chicago that played that?
as far as fav djs I'd just recommend listening to several different ones to get a taste of what you like...I'd recommend checking out luna-c, sy, gammer, brisk, & joey riot to name a few.

Hay! I'm in Chicago too! But, I've been so busy at UChicago, haven't had any gigs here. :(

if you like to hear variations of Happy/uk hardcore, I'd recommend you to download my mixes, as most of them atleast contain 2 different styles :P

Hey there. I would suggest some mixes from some NW djs on http://www.cowpunch.org. There are mixes from Jimni Cricket, Cowpunch, and Myself. Also you can check out one of my latest mixes at http://www.doughboy.sickpigrecords.co.uk/music/doughboy_-_killer_cupcakes.mp3

My favorite was number 6, and I also liked 2, 3, 5, and 8 a lot.

I'm pretty sure anyone new to the scene should buy Hardcore Underground + Vol 2 / Freeformation / Bonkers 17
Otherwise they might get terribly depressed and flee.
IMNSHO YMMV!
;)

6. German artist rather mainstream, check out Dutch and German Happy Hardcore. For example:
Paul Elstak, Critical Mass, Ravers World, Brothers in Crime, Pulp Shock, Blümchen etc
2. Old british (old in this case meaning mid 90's) Happy Hardcore, check out the artists:
Bang!, Force & Styles, DJ Energy, Vinylgroover, Stompy etc
3. Is a Makina track (Makina means Spanish Hardcore), try looking out for e.g. Pont Aeri mixtapes.
Its popular in non english countries (Spain, France, Japan), so records might be a bit hard to find.
5. and 8. Japanese Hardcore, not really a distintive style of its own, but rather uses anything and everything that sounds good (which also means that if you dont like all hardcore, finding the good tracks might be a bit hard). Check out the artists:
DJ Sharpnel, Technetium, M-Project, RaverRose, T+pazolite, records from the lable MPT etc
