At the moment i am using the stantons that came with my decks, im new to DJing and wondering if it is worth upgrading my cartridges, will it make a noticable difference? If so what would you all reccomend?

if your new to dj'ing then u can go wrong with Shure M477 carts they are the business, solid as f**k very reliable, strong, and very good tracking. also good if u wanna learn scratching as they track the groove very very well. and at 30 quid they are a bargain

Hope this helps bud here is a link

Once the sound quality goes down on them I would say only clean them once or twice as after that they never really sound the same again..

depends they don't track the best I found, Also they are a bit more expensive to replace and they do wear out if your playing hardcore and being heavy in the mix. They are not really hardcore carts. I would say they are more for house / trance dj's.

Also they are bad for scratching. The needle shape is wrong, and they will wear fast with scratching.

As i said in my first post shure m447 carts are the business, I recommend them Highly!!!

here is the review of the M447 carts. from Digital Village

Revived exactly the same as the original, the legendary Shure MV447 battle needle offers ultra-high skip resistance and ultra-high output. The needle of choice for many champion DJ's worldwide, including The former Invisibl Skratch Piklz, X-ecutioners, and The World Famous Beat Junkies.

Engineered for scratch DJ's and turntablists, the Shure M44-7 is designed not to skip under even the most demanding circumstances.

The main features of the Shure MV447 include:

* unique wide-diameter Type S cantilever
* tracking force of 1.5 to 3.0 grams
* rugged construction
* 9.5 mV output
* very powerful, resonant sound
