Reason 4.0 is good bud, Lots and Lots of free combinators and refills about for it so thats always good,,, Also is fairly easy to get into. and if you can get cubase you can re-wire it to cubase too. which is good to know..

:)

About the keyboard thing reason has a piano roll which you can draw the notes in but its slow and a pain in the arse lol. You can pick up a Midi keyboard cheap i would recomend the Alesis Photon x25 its a small keyboard but its really good for the price I think you can pick one up for 60 quid.

Hope this helps bud.

to be honest bud, reason is really not to bad to get into. Especially if u have a keyboard to play tunes on, and making beats is simple too with easy click and copy style of production which many find easy to start off with.

all the best anyway if u gt stuck let me know there are some really good tutorial videos on youtube for most music production software.
