I havent ever heard an Alesis monitor i liked. Cant tell you which models ive heard (they were all below AUS$2000 ) But to me they sounded average at best. Lifeless. Dull. Kinda muddy maybe too i didnt spend much time on them.
By default KRK would be a better choice. I actually thought the rokit 6's were okay. They didnt tickle my pickle but they didnt make me want to run away like the alesis did. They sounded MUCH more vibrant and full.
APPARENTLY Behringer truths are quite good as well. I skipped straight past them after about 20 seconds of listening - but anyone who has spent a lot of time with/shopping for monitors will tell you that its pretty subjective.
Only way to really get value for money is to go ahead and A/B test them. They're both at about the same specs and technically neither would probably be better but either way its more down to personal preference.
The phrase "you get what you pay for" applies to monitors, unfortunately. No matter how much time you spend shopping - you're always gonna find something better unless you wanna spend $20,000....

I would avoid anything Behringer tbh. Some of their gear sounds OK but the quality of their stuff is shoddy at best.
I have heard from a few that they love their Alesis mk2 monitors but I guess they may not have had much/anything to compare them against...
I would say the KRK's aren't going to have a very good low end, perhaps stretch to the 6's if you can?

I would think out of the box on this one...
I have used Heard and LOVE these monitors. They have a cracking Low end and a Sexual High lol
I know they are a wee bit more expensive than the KRK and Alesis once your looking at but they are defo worth the extra coin.

Wicked mate, they've prob' come down in price a bit since I last looked.
Not as good as a nice £1000+ pair but then whos got that spair for a small pair of speakers you're not getting a return on. :(
Interface should be fine of you treat it gently. They just use very cheap components to bring the price down.
