ok, so say i know a decent singer and i want her to do some acapellas for me, what equipment would i need? or would it be easier to just go and do it at a record studio or is that not worth it just for say 10 vocal samples?

its always worth going to a studio useing the correct microphones ect good thing about using a studio is the engineer will set everything up and get your vocals sounding sweet, If u dont go for that then get a good mic, with a pop guard,

i thought that would be the case, i think it would be better for me to book some studio time rather than do it all myself.

one more point.....is it a good idea to do a track 1st and fit the vocals to it or fit the track to the vocals?

yea its better for the singer so they can listen to the song in headphone while they record the vocals, Means the vocals will be almost perfect in time with the track, and you should not need to do much adjustment to them, Also get the vocals in a stereo spread ask the engineer at the studio to set this up. makes them sounds sweet i think.

Duet
Bru has one he let me flow on, it's on point fo sho.
He does his own vocals, sounds decent.
Using an average vocal mic, nothing fancy.

Also that auto tune effect. I think Uffie uses it in first love choon.
If not auto tune then whatever effect that is, her vocals are WKD.

thats why they have click tracks ;) to keep people in time.

You dont need a completely finished track if thats what you're asking. Whenever ive recorded vocals ive just done it over a piano chord progression. Obviously the same one as the one in the track im producing.
