i mix, and i am going to get into scratching. right now i have my turntables but no mixer or Torq (ordered online, get here sometime next week) and i just wanna see what i can do with what i got and what i will get.
Specs:
Turntables: Numark TTX
Mixer: Numark DM-1002MKII
and of course Torq for music. it plugs into my laptop and plays music through the turntables and i can mix like normal vinals.

for scratching you're best bet is to find a no-skip scratch records (one that loops). hit up a hip hop store for good ones.
get mixing down before you start to try turntable trickery

i mean as the music to scratch and add things over.
edit: Dj ravine is my example. he has one song run while the other is playing for scratching and to add to the other song

you have to find a song that stay in a 4/4 beat. a lot of songs don't keep tempo as well. finding a song that works over another song basically takes a lot of trial and error.
a lot of the ideas I have had over the years don't work (well for me atleast) as you have to slow the song down a lot and then it sounds wrong...like I said trial and error
