I've been trying for a while now but can someone explain to me the formula for producing gabber or am I just missing something:-( Cheers

not as easy as it sounds is it lol :)

my advice PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and PRACTICE

obviously you need good samples(kicks etc) and dont just distort everything lol use it but use it well :)

a suggestion is to mirror(to an extent) a fave gabba track of yours just to see how things work etc but obviously dont pick a track which will be too hard for you :)

then practice experiment practice experiment :)

Oldschool = sampled rave stabs + hoovers, vocal samples, and fuzzy, analog distortion on a 909 drumkit (mostly the kicks and rides.)

Nuschool = big thundering distorted kick that you processed the hell out of (lots of compression + EQing, kind of like how dnb guys make their basses) and a screechy supersaw synth with a simple 4 bar melody. For added nustyle, work in 6/8 or 12/8 or use triplets in normal 4/4.

What are you missing, exactly?
