this may sound like a stupid question, but it has always confused me+
when naming a remix, it usually looks something like this:
artist A - name of the song (artist B remix)
this means that the orinigal version is from artist A, and Artist B did the remix??
OR, the original is from B and the remix from A?????
thats something has always hammered my mind :000

If the remix is an official one, then it's "Artist A - Track (Artist B remix)".
if not, then it's better to name it "Artist B - Track", or as people usually do "Anon - Track"

They just put anon on unlicensed remixes (bootlegs) so that it can't be tracked back to an artist so easily. It's not an artist.

can you get in trouble by doing an unlicensed remix, even if you are not selling it or anything, just for the fun?

No mate, no one will be bothered if it's just for fun. If you release it they may decide to come after you... Most prolly wouldn't care anyway unless it was getting big sales.
