as of now i plan on getting:
-Pioneer DJM-600 mixer
-Stanton C.314 CDJs
-Pioneer EFX-1000 Effector
This gear will be for hardcore mixing, obviously, and I'm just wondering if this gear is too expensive to start off on or what, because I'm pretty sick of having to use Magix to do my work on =P.
Links, suggestions, and/or tips are greatly appreciated :D
btw: stuff made with Magix: http://www.myspace.com/djacidix

Hmmmmm... dunno why you getting the EFX, the DJM600 already comes with effects.
Try getting the CDJ100's for CDJ's never seen the Stanton's CDJ but yeh... :)

you're going to spend all your money on effects and hardly any on the equipment that counts =P
spend more money on your cdjs, less on the mixer and you don't need an effector for a beginner.

get some standard cdjs. Like what people use in clubs, typically some cdj1000s, but I've seen 800's and 100s.

may want to think about some decent speakers, headphones and amp if you haven't already got them.

Well all I can say is try get stuff that is 'Pioneer'.
- Pioneer CDJ100's or CDJ400's or CDJ800's/CDJ1000's which ever you can afford.
- Pioneer DJM mixer series, which ever one floats your boat.
- You can use any speakers but if you want some get powered monitor speakers there for you don't need to buy an amp.
Hope this helps!

soo overall:
-don't bother with EFX, its only for pros
-don't focus on mixer as much as the CDJs

ok, after look around I came to this set up:
-Pioneer DJM-400 Mixer
-Pioneer CDJ-800 MK2s
-Speakers from around the house
-Radio Shack Headphones
Total Price: ~$1900
If this set up sounds good for beginners, what are some good places to buy this gear at?

I'd look into better headphones imo, but other than that looks good
