if you've got a cell phone capable of web browsing you could stream it via that, and use either the aux input or an fm radio transmitter to play it through the car stereo

Yes you can, several options
1. PDA and unlimited data plan.
2. pwned (hacked) iphone and iradio plus unlimited data plan (comes standard with AT&T off the shelf phones)
3. Certain mobile phones and vradio (http://www.vradio.org) and unlimited data plan.
4, pwned (hacked) ipod touch and iradio BUT you need a Wifi signal, which is a little harder to find.
5. Hacked PSP will also work but you need Wifi
Actually if you have Wifi any notebook would work... so you have a few options with wifi.
All combo's require some sort of line out from the device. Basically Wifi in the future it's a reason why we are not on XM, pretty much you can get cell phone signals anywhere, I would recommend the iphone to pick us up as it's quite easy device but any thing will do.
I've gotten an email from someone saying they drove from Texas to New York and listened to happyhardcore.com radio (even the live shows) for 98% of the way no problems.

PSPs dont need to be 'hacked' mine isnt and di radio is what i listen to most on my psp. all you need is to download pspradio (which is legally free) and a wifi conection. the only problem with wifi is you either need to have it urself or be at a hotspot, un-passworded!
wifi wouldnt work in a car as you'd go out of range to quickly..
