Rave Trips are Always the best experience to me, and I find myself enjoying myself x10 when out of town :D
There are SO MANY ways of getting to Canada for you! Have you considered cars, buses, trains? of course its not a 2hours trip, but in the end I find its worth it! Heck, i went to frickin Spain for HTID In the Sun last summer, and that costed me near 2000$, but in the end it was worth every penny!
Lol, money is the main factor my friend. Being 16 I dont really have that much money yet. When I get money, I save it so I can upgrade my DJ equipment.

East coast, UK. for me
We have a nice little scene. Hardcore nights litually 3 or 4 times a month in my town. plus couple of other clubs are now doing oldskool/happy hardcore events. but their is other clubs but they tend to stick to commercial sounds

I would die for weekly, even monthly UK/Happy Hardcore events at bars & clubs in Montreal!!!
It is NOT happening any time soon though :( Hardcore is way too unknown over here (due to lack of distribution imo)

It could be done in Ottawa so it could surely be done in Montreal.
If I liked throwing 100 person parties I would run a bi-weekly hardcore show in Ottawa, I'm just more into BIG shows...

At the end of the day.
United Kingdom is the best country for music.
There is always something every week down my way.
Also alot of illegal rave tend to happen in our quiet villages near me, but it has been quiet recently.
Mainly due to these stupid people posting details on their profile websites..... Eh, Hello??!?!
