... People refer to hardcore tracks as 'electro' or 'techno'. Or when they call it 'Hardcore Techno' or 'Fast Techno'. It sure does annoy me... Anyone else?

Dont think iv ever come across that, i get more pissed off when people refer to trance or techno as Happy Hardcore because thats what a P2P download programe says it is...

i commented on breeze and styles - electric and sed it was hardcore and got called a 'd**k' for saying it!!

It's even worse when i tell some "Indie till i Die" peeps that i'm into Hardcore Techno, and they refer to rankin or a speeded up cascada track!
I turn around and just walk away, i could be arrested otherwise!

Yeah, but sometimes I have to use stuff like faster techno/trance to describe it to people who've never heard of hardcore. It's just not common enough stateside.
What pisses me off even more is when I tell someone I'm into hardcore and they say "oh do you like <some hardcore punk band>?"

hardcore techno is basicly a good term to use when refering to everything ranging from happy hardcore to Terror/speedcore.
it's a valid term and eliminates misunderstandings about which branch of hardcore you're taling about.
Personally i need to use it because a lot of the ppl know are into metal or hardcore punk and they always think of hardcore as being the punk variety.
I just hate it when ppl call anything with a beat and synths techno or trance.
I hate ignorant ppl spewing ******** about my music.

Hardcore Techno is fair enough when ppl are refering to hardcore without piano breaks.
aside of that I agree with ppl refering to trance as hardcore get on my tits...Still hardcore here is a lot darker harder and faster, so I refer to Happy hardcore.
Still we are in a Tektonik phase which is basically Techno and hip hop mixed whilst clubbers dress like catalogue models or as ravers in white and neon. Bring on the Belgium Happy Hardcore scene...I call it Hardtek..that really annoys them..perhaps I'll try Happy Tek or Tonikcore next.
