OK so if a dj wants to get booked he can just record a mix to tape/cd and hand it out, what does an MC do? do you need to find a DJ or somethin and let him play a set and then have you MC over it and hand that out?

Just find an un mced set or a mix without an Mc already on it and Mc over the top i spose.....
Edit: I havent actually done a demo yet because (dont wanna sound big headed) but i know that people will want me to Mc for them. And im way to nervous to Mc infront of people haha you should of seen me shaking in the recording studio lol. But the dj whose track i was Mcing on said i was a cross between whizzkid and enemy which was the biggest compliment i think iv ever got

if you fancy using an album to MC on then have a go with my Hardcore set, Neva a Dull Moment! Even just using the part of the set you think suits your style best. Sum great UK Hardcore & Freeform on there & if I like the sound of you guy's then I'll get you on my Radio station, Narcotik Radio for sum live MCing with various different dj's. Let me know what you think lads.

How did the recording session go? the track good? when can we hear?
Yeah i guess so, so i just gotta find a good set, what equipment would i need? just use audacity or something? and MC thru my decks into audacity over the mix?

N yea the track went really well thanks for asking. Well it went well once i got a bottle of vodka down me for the nerves lol and as far as i know the track is almost complete...As soon as my mate makes me a myspace and the track gets finished you'll be able to hear it :).
@ Narcotik, on the D/L now il have a listen to that tune n might have a mess about with a few lyrics on it :)

i think finding a dj who plays out on a regular basis and teaming up with them can really help. if the dj thinks you both work well together, they could ask the promoters who have booked them for future events and see if you could mc their set.
theres been many events that a dj has asked me to go with them to mc on their set\, once ive mced, the promoter has wanted me to come back. always talk to promoters when at events. if promoters like you they are more likely to book you.
recording yourself on a mix is great too but nothing shows a promoter what you can do better than a live performance.

Hey, thanks for your input. i totally agree with you and i would love 2 do a live performance i bet the buzz is amazing, however, i dont know any DJs who play live what so ever!!!!
Im hoping to do a mix so that i can hand it out and put it on the net and hopefully some DJs will hear it and if they like my style may let me MC with them, you never know unless you have a go

Hey, ive had a listen to the set (which is wicked btw) and had a few goes at doing some of my rhymes over it etc but all my equipment is at home and im not home until friday night when im going out for someones birthday, so Saturday, i will record my MCing on your mix and i should be able to put it up online Sunday night.
Sounds wicked though, just hope you like what i do on it
