So I am going to buy a DJM 800. I saw that they had an upgrade, which consisted of 4 rotary knobs to replace the crossfader. I read some reveiws, which said it gives you more control of the mix. Has anyone used this or maybe another mixer with the same type controls? If so what do you think?

Only do it if you want to mix house with stupid slow ass fades. Something with a BPM over 100 you'll need to cut quickly.

rotary faders rock! but if ur playing hardcore or dnb or something over 145bpm, ur better gettin sliders, rotaries are better for house, trance etc

as mentioned, rotary knobs are for house mixing. they aren't going to help you much if you're mixing hardcore unless you mix tracks the entire length of the record =P
I've seen people scratch on them but it's a pain.

Thanks for the tip. I actually do play quite a bit of house, trance, & breaks. I like to do alot of 3 turntable mixing too. I was thinking about buying a Vestax PMC-05 to add to my workspace as well as the DJM 800. I like to do some scratching/beat jungling. I guess I'll see when I get back State side. Thanks again. BO!
