Anyone else love coming home after a banging night to enjoy some Japanese light entertainment Takeshi's Castle??
Anyone who doesn't know what Takeshi's castle is well I'll enlighten you..
Basically it's a game show where 100 contestants compete in really funny physical challenges in a chance to go through to the final showdown where they get the chance to beat the Emerald guards and storm the castle!!
Sounds easy but in the history of Takeshi's castle only once it has been won.
Really is to long to explain what the challenges are & so forth so just watch it as it is on @ 4:10am every sat on Virgin 1!! (or Challenge)

do they show the actual takeshi's castle there? over in the US we get a show called "most extreme elimination challenge", where they take that show and dub really funny announcing over it. they say the most stupid things and constantly make every event into some sort of sex joke... look up "most extreme elimination challenge" on youtube and i'm sure you can find a bunch of them!

takeshi's castle use to be shown here, MTV in there logic in Aus decided to rename it and cut alot of the events like the final canon/water pistol game :/
went from the gameshow to a clip show.

tell ya whats bad though those rollers where they have to run over them
wonder how many people have died on that program over the years?
and IVE NEVER EVER SEEN ANYONE WIN!

I remember the first time I saw Takeshi's Castle. One of the greatest televisual experiences of my life.

Nothing like stepping stones to see them running at full pace, step on the wrong stone then get a full face of fail at 15 miles per hour.
Love Takeshi's Castle. Always wondered if they cut off the end of the winning episode though coz they win then it just goes to credits, you don't see them win anything. i was amazed when they finally won
anyway yea, hilarious show. remember endurance uk?

Never seen an episode it's not shown in Japan and there is no such thing as reruns here just more and more Japanese variety shows with TV "talentos"

Quality show. My favorite is when they are in the balls & have to get up the hill without the bloke at the top turning round & seeing them. Love it when they get near the top & get seen & get sent rolling back to the bottom.

I love the international ones were they are really scared an do stuff like stepping stones at 1 mph! It just proves that the rest of the world are pussys compared to the japs!!

oh man takeshi's castle is wicked, but i think you could only get it on cable in oz... i used to watch it when i was younger! i dont really watch much tv anymore though anyway... i have sky so i cant even watch it here. booooo!!! :(
