Matt's right, it doesn't suck, it is a very quiet recording but the track itself is very good ....all 7mins and 34seconds of it

and it has some nicely unusual melodies going on in there.

and who is C Cell?

I don't know really where to begin on giving advice. There is nothing majorly wrong with it; the rest is just down to practice. Keep practicing!

I like the complex percussion, and yeah, the melody its interesting

I think the bass need a like more presence in some parts, so its sounds more bouncy

Wow, thanks guys.

Ionosphere - my alias. If I ever start getting into being a real producer I would use c cell. As for the long length, didn't mean to do that lol.
manuelf - Exactly where do you think the bass is awkward?

Btw, what exactly do you mean by interesting melody? Is it because it kind of switches between major and minor? That was actually completely unintended. It was in major in the piano roll editor, but after I saved, exited acid, then opened it up later it was like that. What a stupid DAW.

Cheers guys.

It's not too long, the length is fine for a DJ friendly dance track but that's 7 and a half minutes of my life used up....

I could have been....

out in the back garden cutting the hedge or mowing the lawn FFS....!

The melody is unusual in a good original way. Major, minor, it works.

oops... forget about the bass, i wasnt listening in the proper speakers it all sounds good!
and about the melody, it doesnt matter if it was unintended.. sometimes the best ideas came when you push the wrong button

Advice as I listen:

very quiet
drum sounds in the intro aren't so great. needs more punch and more emphasis on the upper end.
omg. is that the noise from Poing? i really want to say it sucks and doesn't belong, but it's awesome
love the bass/stab combo. very bouncy.
might want to use a different crash sound. some reverb and other processing
wow that's a long intro
vocals need to be a little higher in the mix. that whole frequency range in general is kind of swamped by the bass and atmospheric stuff
cool riff. reminds me of some old school track i can't remember
the lead part comes in kinda suddenly (the part on top of the main riff, that is, that comes in at the drop). a filter sweep into that one would help
the second time the lead comes in, have it do something different. i'd have gone for arpeggiating it. and since i'm me, a 303 layer would show up, but that's just because i love them
keep the kick drum's bass during the outro. the way you have it is a bit of a sudden transition from being very active to giving almost nothing to mix with.

Aside from having a muddy mixdown, great job! Some more mastering and it'll be great!

(btw, what version of Acid are you running? I've used 5 and 6 for a long time and it's never done anything like that.)

Tried to get the sound even in audacity, but the thing wouldn't do it. I did find a way to even out the waveform/volume, but no matter what setting I used it would clip (even if it didn't go over the threshold, wtf)

Yeah... I agree with you there, needs more kick.

The BOINK BOINK boing boing thing? lol... put that in there just to try out things and in my opinions it fit in great.

I'm guessing you say this because the crash sound is too short? As for it needing some reverb, now I know what was missing...

Blargh... I'm going to try and keep myself from doing that from now on.

Really? Sorry if I can't tell, I may have good headphones but I'm using onboard sound.

Aye... the one at 3:30? 3:53? 4:15? Or 4:37?

Nice idea!

I'll see what I can do. I omitted the kicks at the end because I realized that the song was getting way too long.

6.0d
I've been using it since 2.0 (2, 3, and 4 my dad owned so I used them on his computers over the years, skipped five, and now I own 6. My main annoyance is how sony has dropped the ball on acid. Just take a look at the "Congratulations sony, you've done it!!!" thread on their forums.)

Thanks for giving me your opinion.

I know this is probably a lost cause, but does anyone here, by some wild chance, possibly still have the song lying around on a hard drive or something?

Edit: Wow, for some reason I remember the feedback being a lot worse for it...
