sound forge or any audio editor is the easiest way to edit samples for use in your sequencer imho, well worth knowing how to use it to it's full capability

so can you like cut bits out and copy and mess around with them and actually like write samples from clips of other sample and things like that? (sorry im new to this)
coz i was askin in another thread for someone to recomend a good basic sampler to use and they recommended halion but i couldnt see any tools on it to do anything with the waveforms or clips of samples etc.
also i saw on a cubase demo you can record a sample and then quantize it to the tempo, can you do this with soundforge?
im gonna have to spend soem time readin the sondforge help section tonight i think!!

You should be recording through the line input! The mic input is mono.

to make a sample, first oprn whatever you wanna sample, select it, copy, paste to new then use whatever effects you like, if any.
halion is a great vst sampler you can use to load & play the sample in your sequencer

unfornunately iv only got a laptop so have to put up with recording into the mic input till i can afford a pc with a soundcard.does the job for now.
shades of grey i dont know if youve used Edison on fruity loops but i saw a tutorial video of Edison and you could do all sorts of stuff with a sample loaded into it like cutting bits out, copying and pasting, adding silence etc. basically what im askin is can you do the same with soundforge?
i want a sampler to play around on where you can do all the things iv seen on edison but i think id get on with soundforge more for some reason. oh yeah and sorry to ask the same question twice but can you use vst's with soundforge?
