Hi guys am really getting into all this kind of stuff like music production/engineer/sound w/e you wanna call it.
Am in Australia, is there a place I can go learn all of these? And what should I learn? What qualifications do I need? What course do I look at? And what job can it give me?
Thanks.

SAE (school of audio engineering) offers a lot of courses from an electronic music production course which teaches you the basic ins and outs of sequencers and writing dance music.
But they also to diplomas and degrees in audio production/engineering. The courses range from 6 months to 2 years but are pretty expensive - although they will tell you that you can get regular placements in jobs through an SAE qualification and the contacts that they have.
I know SAE has a campus in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Byron Bay, Melbourne and Perth but not all the courses are offered at every campus - Sydney and Brisbane being the most popular campus.
Of course you work in completely decked out studios and they teach you how to use all the equipment and such and later on after you have your degree they even offer a masters degree course that you can do over "distance-learning" or overseas.
If you wanna check out it you can go to www.SAE.edu and on the left hand-side you can pick which campus you want and itll take you to another site. You can also send out for brochures (they post for free) and they have a lot of open days every yearwhere you can go and see the place and chat to the teachers and stuff - you can also look at the course outlines/guidelines/what they teach through each course, and see how much it all costs.
From what ive heard, this is by far the best institute to go to for anything to do with audio.
Hope that helped mate.

Except that SAE courses are rubbish
I know, I've done it when it was good, and still it sucked for electronic music production. all the decent teachers have left and have been replaced with ex-students and photocopied notes.

um... ... it may be easier to get accepted to school than to find a complete stranger to take you on as their protege.

I still run it. Just working full time it's a bit crazy atm.
I rotate around 15 students and engineer for Nik Fish, Archie, Suae, Pulsar etc.
You may not get a certificate but I assure you get your moneys worth.
If your interested and would like more information. You can email me at [email protected] or you can speak to the people I teach for their feedback.
Cheers,
Ben
