Hi, i've been scratching for a while now & am really getting the hang of it now but my skip proof vinyl that I bought is starting to skip much more now than it ever did & I think it is because how big the hole on the middle of the vinyl has become. The table that I use isn't exactly the stablest but was ok when I first got my skip proof vinyl. I also went out & bought a 160pound pair of Stanton Trackmaster Vol 3 thinking that this would really help the skipping out but, infact, it's made things slightly worse as these needles are very light & don't take much to knock them out of their groove.
I was wandering how to go about setting my tone arms up for scratching using the height adjustment & the anti skating button & also how to set my Weights for scratching. Cheers. Ken

i watched a video on youtube once that explained it (i've got the basics down too, and have the same problem) but i've found that the guy's setup in the video didn't help at all.
i'm sure someone will post the same link.

Yeah, I know what you mean mate. I think I seen that same video before & to be honest, I think it made things worse LOL I'm sure someone else can help out. I was thinking that mabey raising the arm more so tha tthe needles is getting aimed down into the vinyl but I really don't know. I know the weights are supposed to be as far in as they can go but what have you done with your anti skating button & does this even make a difference???

That's what I thought but q bert say's to keep it set @ 0. The anti skating is how quick your arm will move across when raised.
