In my third week at my new job now & my boss thinks im doing good but my second boss can be stressy at times & it has been said that he is an arsehole, even my main boss said it! The problem is my mian boss is leaving soon & the second might come in & my main boss was away today to the second guy was in charge! I work in a kicthen for a canteen at a factory.

All morning he was barking orders at me! 'Do this, do that!' this is not unusal as he has always been streesy but I laugh it off but today he just toke the piss & someone else said that I shouldn't be spoken to like that! (trust me he was on my case all the time)

In the afternoon he was ok though & when he went home another guy was in charge so I had an easy afternoon!

What shall I do if my future boss takes over & treats me like shit? Shall I tell him to **** off (which will get me intro trouble) or there is a frying pan in the kitchen somewhere!

all jobs (well nearly all ) have gaffers on a power trip, it IS annoyin and ya do feel like kickin the shit out of them..... but if you did that then its back on the dole. so just bite ya lip n get on with it, thats what i do, i decided to give it some mouth back once, ended up with a final warnin which lasted six months

Must disagree with that actually. Yes, you will always find the odd C-bag at any job you go to, but the best thing to do is not to just shut up about it, because it almost seems to encourage them into thinking that;'s ok because thy aren't pulled up about it.

There was a guy at my old bar job who could actually be a pretty decent fella at times, but when at work (because he really didn't want to be there, he was just there while waiting to get into the old bill) he was a complete bastard to work with.

I let it pass many a time the way he went on at me til one day it just got too much and i said to him, i don't give a **** if you are in charge or not, at the end of the day i won't be spoken to like that, it's not fair and it's not right. We ended up havin a bit of a screamin match because he just went off on one and i finished up sayin basically i have no problem with you being in charge, its the way you talk to me, so sort it out or i'll just go above your head to the next guy and sort this out becuase i'm not the only one you're like to like this.

He soon shut up. The point is mate, you NEVER have to deal with anyone's shit; and if he tries to say you'll be disciplined or any crap like that, simply say you have the right to work in a comfortable and respectable work place as that is the law. If he don't sort it out then you either take it further or leave. No point sitting and moaning about it for years on end (like some people actually do). Give it a chance and see how it goes, but that is definitely the way forward; in fact you'll even get attention from some superiors; makes people take notice of you havin a pair and standing up for yourself.

Yeah thats all well and good - congratulations you're not a doormat... but hey you lose your job all the time. I'd rather be a doormat with a job, than saying what i think and being unemployed.

Every job has *******s. People are *******s. If you have a good work environment you'll be able to lodge a formal complaint about someone and THAT is the way you SHOULD do it.

You shouldn't be giving lip to your boss... That (in most circumstances) isnt going to get you anywhere.

Main boss? Second boss? You need to find out who you report to and only do what they say if anyone else tells you what to do tell them they will have to talk to your boss before you do it.

I wouldn't put up with it. Have a quiet word & tell him what you think of him. If worst comes to worst you've only been there a few weeks so get another job.

I'd go lightly. Tell him nicely that you dissaprove of his way of talking to you, and that you'd appreciate it if he were a little nicer about work. If that doesn't work, go to a superior and complain to them, it'll soon be sorted.

I had a boss like that once too and since I still go to school and it was a job just for some extra money I got pushed around even more. The solution I came up with was telling my boss to piss off and I just quit and got me another job :)

You can say things to him in order to stop him treating you like that without risking losing your job. If you write to Kerry Foods regional management, tell them how your manager is doing their job, do not over-exagerate, and do not include your name!

I couldn't tell you what you can say to him in reply to his stressy orders, it's not about what you say it relies on how you say it and what your body language is when you say it, remember, you can say something to him as long as its not offensive or anything in attack.

Things you could say is; "John, i banged your mum"
