Random and insane thought: my friends and I want to head up to Canada for a day of exploration; leave New York City Sunday night and be back by tuesday before 9 am.
Possible??
We're estimating it'll take about 8 hours..
so does anyone know how much gas money will be needed? what's the whole deal with crossing the border? where to visit, that won't take us out too far? "hostel" locations? lmao any information will be more than appreciated! ta

There has been a bit of hassle with passports by US, AFAIK you dont need one. But you should make sure that you can get back home ;)
Anyway have fun, ive always wanted to visit Canada.

toronto throws some pretty good parties.
why not look at race against time on september 12? it's going to be a huge party, and toronto isn't that far from the border.

why would I want to leave america to visit american jr? =P
as long as you are visiting for a day you shouldn't need a passport...but it never hurts to have one just incase.
how much gas money you'll need depends on where you want to go...I'd recommend toronto & montreal. you can check local gas prices online

for me to make that trip it takes about 3 tanks (round trip) so that's about 125+, as well as thruway tolls and bridges. border crossing is easy, just bring your passport or your license/birth certificate. if you're going to toronto there is TONS to do but i can't say i'm familiar with montreal. just drink and eat montreal smoked meat
