Well its just a grip that personally really got to me at the Santuary Festival in the Hardcore Tent. But its something I notice at a lot of raves and its pretty disheartening.

Why is it that and MC has to shout to get people to make some noise and cheer, I would have thought most people would be doing it out of respect for the person who's just spent an hour of their time entertaining the crowd? I must have danced for about a good 6/7 continuously and was probabally screaming at every opportunity, but I found myself on occasions the only one, and with such a big crowd I ask why??

I know in the smaller raves Ive been to, I see maybe not such a huge crowd (take Fusion @ Quake in Woking) but that should inspire people to get on the floor, but instead you just get hoards around the sides.

I dont want to bang on into the commercialness etc. but to be honest the only times I see floors filled is when the Hixxy's / Styles's etc are playing.

Anyway, thats been on my chest for long enough, just wanted to get it out there.

I know at the sanc festival i wasnt as lively as i normally am at raves (well on the first night anyway) because the sound was so low the first set we heard was supreme with scottie b & whizzkid and all i could hear was whizzkid couldnt even hear what tune was playing was a bit of a mood killer lol.

On the second night though the sound was sorted and i was going crazy all night long lol.....Well untill i over did it on the phete and had to have a sit down haha

It's because hordes of people who can't make up their own opinion on music and only go raving bcause it's "cool" rely on the mc to tell them what to like/do it seems. Same goes for what sets they dance too. That's how it looks to me anyway.

Well im glad someone said it. It seems if they've not featured on a Clubland CD then the dancefloor empties out.

the atmosphere adds to the fun. also a party is what you make it. i personally hate mc's with exception of a few stateside ones, and i think they are completely overused. i also prefer small venues for hardcore and uk hardcore because your party goes off and just the right amount of people are there.

we don't have hardcore tents or festivals that have 20,000 people there, so i cannot compare my experiences to you, i just prefer something smaller.

Because uk hardcore ravers love MC's, they stand watching there lyrical genius and make noise and appropriate times when the micmaster says so

Dj's suck, mc's rule

A lot of people just like a bounce around and cant be arsed with constantly screamin every time a tune drops, wouldnt hold it against them tbh

Lotta people take k at parties these last few years which makes them into temporary vegetables, hence the raise in people chillin round the sides

Been like that for years mate, when i used to go sanctuary and was bang into uk hardcore was always the same. Floor constantly havin good lot of people, then soon as one of them come on place is packed with people goin nuts. Most popular dj's for the genre so makes sense really
