Seriously what the **** is up with people that ask for your advice on a subject they know nothing about then either do the complete opposite or just tell you you're wrong?
I must get this at least once a week from either my dad about the PC, mates about cars and of course the worst offenders lasses.
Prime example:
A lass I know asked me a couple of months ago about a lad I've known for 8 years from school that she'd been speaking to for a month. When I told her she'd probably be best to steer clear of him after getting out of a bad relationship with a guy that treated her like shit told me I was obviously wrong on him. When told he was acting nice to her cos he wanted to stick his dick in her I was told to **** off. Now 2 months later she decides she wants to come vent to me about how he was an ******* for cheating on her. I was in rather a bad mood (no suprise their) and showed no sympathy for her saying "Well if only someone had told you he was a twat!" so she starts going off at me for being horrible and not being sympathetic.
This isn't just me is it? Someone else must have to put up with this shit right?

mehhh happends to me all the time =P ya warn ppl nd they are to stubborn to listen. dun bother it m8 ;) as for the example... after a while she'll come back at ya saying u were rite (if she has the guts =] )
the other things.. well... just life with it =P i told my dad nd bro's a million times how to safely protect their pc's so that i wont have to make a complete format to get it working again but yet again i find maself helping them out every month. thats life!! =]

Dad: OK
*5 minutes later*
Dad: I used "This" and the PC turned itself off and now keeps turning itself off whenever it starts.
Me: *Sigh*
*Cue me having to download all anti-virus, malware programs and everything on my PC, onto my external HDD, transfering it over onto the other PC, booting in safe mode and 3 hours worth of troubleshooting, virus scanning etc*
This occurs AT LEAST once a month!

You're doing it wrong. I have personally chose every piece of hardware and software on my mothers PC. After explaining what programs are important to keep uptodate and what not, havent had a single problem since (if she doesnt know something she calls and asks, and since all software are same as i use, its easy to instruct). Though i didnt get to this point without any previous bad experiences :P

hmm guess mothers are fine then.. mine never causes problems related to the pc.. my dad and bro's on the other hand love to experiment.. even blocked certain sites or closing gates for their pc's wont help cuz they keep finding a way to download virusses nd stuff =/

Happens all the time! Especially with technology related issues. It's like people have an idea in mind but feel they should ask if it's right just to ask. Either way they are going to do it their way and usually fail.

Being a Parent, they ignore you whatever you say and mine are only 5 and 2.
Unless you scream at them cue the crying. Guilt even if you know you are right.
Be a good listener and family and friends get use to it, so ignore it.
Guys need to prove they are right...so ignored again.
Girls on guys when you are their best mate....we are soft because we listen Shits are dangerous and interesting...actually they are shits but they need the relationship to discover this then cue soft mate to be there when it collapses. Of course they love US like a brother or don't see us in that way cue another shit coming along.

listen to thins: last week i had a =friend ask me for advice on slicing and dicing music and rearranging it. i told him it might be iligal and to use so and so program. three days later he comes to me saying he used a different program and then posted it to the internet. told him he would be arrested... sure enough he has a court date tomorrow.
