I don't think it's a genre, for me it's still fairly typical CLSM hardcore. That said, most stuff classed as "hardscape" is excellent. Acid Child or Afghanistan, anyone? :)

Yea, Afghanistan is absolutely wicked. A new hardscape track by Orbit1 was just released called H2SO4, which is absolutely stompin as well.
I really like hardscape...some of the cleanest stuff I have ever heard.

Check out the Hardscape section at http://moas.co.uk/mp3store/ That should pretty much cover it.

Oh joy, just what we need, another genre to pigeon hole people into and then have a go at them for it.

^^I'm pretty sure that's not what CLSM is trying to do.
They are dissatisfied with the current sound of hardcore, and in an effort to distance themselves from it, are using a different genre name.
It's halfway between hard dance and hardcore in BPM anyway.

Besides, it's CLSM. CLSM could call their stuff powergospel and I wouldn't be surprised.
Simply put, it's hardcore. Good hardcore. :)

hardscape seemed to me like a tongue-in-cheek genre by the clsm guys poking fun at how people want to label everything... either way, it's good stuff... and culture shift remains freakin sweet
