lol trust me we ALL know how u feel about him!
yea he's not as great as he used 2 b. does he make good tracks? quite possibly. are they brilliant? definitely not. the tracks he makes these dayz aren't tunes that get stuck in ur head forever, like darwin. i'm still lovin "end of time" and "every day" from HU2 and i think i listen to those 2 almost every day ever since i got the album.
and as a vocal, yea he needs to stay away from the mic. that 1 that somebody posted a video of or whatever it was called "feel love" was just awful i had 2 laugh. save me wasn't bad on vocals, but let Re-Con do the male vocals. he's got a decent voice. but female vocals definitely come out better

I'm pretty sick of Styles-slagging myself... I don't really see a reason for it tbh
He IS a talented producer. Just because you don't like what he does, doesn't mean he 'deserved to be drowned' and things like that.
Then there are people slagging him for being "too commercial" so what? He wants to be successful - good on him i say. Hes not exactly TRYING to be underground is he?
I think everyone just needs to take a step back and realise Styles is very good at what he does - commercial hardcore. If you don't like it, thats no reason to slag him off as a producer and songwriter. "Im not a fan" will suffice, "he should be drowned" makes you look like a tool.
I have a lot of admiration for him. You can tell through the years he HAS tried new things and has tried to improve himself as a musician. Even progressing to write and sing his own lyrics is proof enough that hes trying to improve himself - and hes not doing too badly.
Hes on almost every ****ing album known to man in relation to hardcore, and doesnt his hard dance/euro pop get into the charts? That all sounds pretty successful to me, and he has a large following. If you don't like his music, you don't like it, simple as that - thats not a reason to slag him off. If you slagged off every musician you didn't like, then you wouldn't have time to do anything else during the day - it's not worth it, and no musician deserves it.
He makes good and bad tracks like everyone else - nobody is perfect.
But you know, its fantastic to know that if i ever become anywhere near as successful as he does - there will be people here slagging me off.
I can understand why he is one of the "top tier" that doesnt visit forums.

I peak really Really REALLY hard to all of his tracks. I've never actually disliked one of his tracks. Once one of them comes out, i will play it to death then wait for the next one and then do the same.
But his mixing is nothing special.

Not the most interesting DJ as his sets just rinse the same style. His productions are always of a high standard though. Well produced, well written. Can't knock them really. I don't mind his vocals either. I actually love to hear male vocals in hardcore.

Not really interested in his more recent tracks (but then that could be said of most UK Hardcore) but I respect him for the Force & Styles and more importantly the Force & The Evolution stuff.

He is one of the most influential artists in hardcore history. I must admit I haven't been too impressed with the direction he has taken in the last few years but if he wants to be involved in the commercial dance scene then that's his right, nothing wrong with trying to attract a broader audience. Saying that, I think that new song with Ultrabeat "Discolights" is actually quite good.
I prefer the Styles that used to make tunes like "Back to the Old School", "Skydivin'", "Takin' Me Higher" and produced some great tracks with Breeze such as "Future Shining", "You're My Angel", "2 The Dancefloor", "Heartbeatz", "Slide Away", "Thug Boy". They made some good remixes too and of course some of the Force and Styles tunes are classics.

People dislike him personally because of his success. Hixxy, Breeze and especially Dougal make hardcore just as trancey and commercial sounding as his but you never hear anyone having fanny fits about them killin' teh scene.
