how many times has a raver gone to you and asked you if you wrote the song? you'd be surprised to know that a lot of ravers have no idea what you are actually doing up there. some think that dj is just a title that you have as part of your nick name. some people go to raves and don't even realize that there are djs even playing, and that music is just coming out of the speakers.
in some scenes the djs aren't the center of attention, the music is.
but i'm sure that you all already thought that through.
*edited to add*
how many djs on this page has ever given out cds that were not tracked out and some of the ravers thought that you had just given them an hour long song that you wrote?
i had a mix on di.fm and people were commenting on it like it was one continuous song. no shit. so i think maybe you guys should think about the whole dynamic of everything before assuming that people are stupid.
i understand that 95wasthetime is a bozo but he poses a good question in a way, what if it were someone new to the forums? are these the answers you would have given?
talk about a warm welcome.

your so right there lol.. i hear it plenty times when i dj sumwhere "wow great track, you wrote it?"
but erm... comparing 95_was_the_time to a newby is kinda... odd... i mean. obvious if a newby comes by nd asks this you wudnt know wot his or her knowledge about dj'ing etc is.. 95's knowledge is known by a good amount of members so its more then normal to get this kinda reactions.
to ansewr your question... i'd still say "disk jockey, u cudda looked it up on google" to a newby.. just to learn him/her that we've got google to find ansewrs aswell.. or shud teachers walk with their students for a life time to give ansewrs to the sutdents questions?
